This is a debatable topic, but I fully encourage power scaling. I love it when discussions are had about the unique power system of my work. Some things must be said: just because something survived or came later in the story does not make it automatically more powerful. Just because a character says something doesn’t automatically make it true. Just that something was not focused on in the story doesn’t mean you can’t speculate (this all applies not only to power and what is mentioned here, but to everything in fiction). There are more things I could add but you probably get the point by now. I am not confirming or denying anything, I leave the story and power-scaling up to speculation and I enjoy seeing my readers debate, so please go ahead.
The purpose of the “some things must be said” section is to make sure that power-scaling is done in a way that makes sense by bringing to your attention some of the mistakes power scalers may do. Also, power isn’t everything, and there are different types of power. It is possible for a character to be very important to the story in a different way than another character.
